Rob Beechey
Media Producer - "The Shutterbug"
I’m involved with the production side of the business, writing proposals and scripts in addition to camerawork and editing. I’m lucky enough to have the flexibility in my role here to work on all stages of a project, from the original concept right through to completion.
Before I moved to Dar es Salaam, I studied Social Geography and Climate Change at Durham University in the United Kingdom. After graduation, I worked in the wildlife conservation sector in Bolivia and then on agricultural projects in Tanzania close to Iringa. I love travel and one of the joys of my work is the opportunity to explore Tanzania whilst on location.
Still photography’s always been something I’ve enjoyed immensely and, with the two new Canon 60Ds we have here I’m relishing the opportunity to venture into video. Whether filming music videos in central Dar es Salaam, nomadic Masaai communities near Morogoro, or wildebeest in the Serengeti I’m having a great time, camera in hand.
